Sahir sahab was such a learned person... if you listen the songs of this film carefully... you will see that he has spoken about quite a few intricacies of Hinduism in his songs. He himself was a Muslim by birth but an Atheist by beliefs. His command over both Hindi and Urdu is worth noting. Roshan Sahab remains one of my favourite music directors..... Both of them were a killer combination....

That namaskar features in Odissi - in fact a lot of the steps seem to be taken from Odissi or Odissi-inspired. But I think they've used a lot of other dances as inspiration as well - this is not purely Odissi.

Aeri is actually spoken like 'Aey Ri'. It is normally used by a girl, to call her girlfriend. Just like 'Aey Ri', 'Aey Ji' is used by a girl/lady for her husband/male partner.

Absolutely out-of-this-world contributions by all--the outstanding dancers,Lataji, Roshanji,Sahirji, Meena K. and Pradeep K. The days of such gifted individual artistry and group collaboration are virtually gone. Today,we have mostly vulgarity cloaked as art or extreme flamboyance in Mumbai movies, though every now and then a good piece still does appear. Many thanks for all Chitralekha uploads.
