Inspired by the real life story of Bettie Page, the enigmatic 1950's fashion model, co-writer/director Mary Harron recreates an era where sex and pop culture were at logger heads with conservative Christian values.
Gretchen MOL stars as the New York pin-up sensation whose contentious bondage photos gained notoriety in the underground porn industry. Raised in a devoutly religious household, Bettie Page retained her innocence and spirituality in spite of her controversial modelling career. But as her fame grew, so did her notoriety and she soon became a target for the Senate investigation into pornography.

| I agree, I don't know anything about BP, but this movie did make her seem ditzy and I couldn't imagine her being that way. I think she was probably a pretty smart lady and not quite as innocent/clueless as they make her out to be. watch the interview posted "REAL Bettie Page TV Interview-Her Life In Her OWN Words." She sounds pretty fiesty to me. |

| Why does the film end in the 1950's? Why does the director not tell you anything about Page after that? What about when she had her [1st] ov many mental break-downs in te 1960's, the fact that she stabbed another woman in the '70's, her numerous institutionalizations for being nuts, etc... |
