Ironic they chose to display an ad from the "Lovable Lingerie Company". That is one of many companies the monster WAL-MART ran out of business. Told them they had to LOWER the price or they didn't want the product. Jobs went overseas. Falling prices mean falling American wages. Forget the damned pills people, they cause suicide. Just exercise and eat right. WAKE UP!

advertisements are designed to make you feel inadequate,ugly, fat,unattractive and socially unacceptable to those around you.And it works well.You can tell this from how many women have eating disorders,compulsive shopping,etc... I am not saying that us guys dont have our share of issues that come from advertisements and tv programming.The bottom line is, as long as you continue to waste your life in front of the tv,dont blame anyone but yourself for buying into the illusion reality of tv.:)

In regards to the pantyhose debate, I agree that pantyhose make women's legs look smoother and sexy. I am a woman in my mid 20s and I love wearing them at work especially with a lined skirt and even at home. There are many older and younger women who refuse to wear them but their legs are boney, very thin, knotty, loaded with varicose veins, age spots and just plain nasty looking. They should consider wearing them because it will make their legs look shapely and hide many imperfections.

My wife wears them everyday no matter what the weather is Hot or cold. Pantyhose have come a long way since the 60, 70, and even 80's they are much more comfortable to wear. Think of hose as make-up for the legs. If you take a 10 - 30 minutes in the morning to makeup your face and do your hair, and pick an outfit, then why not take an extra 5 minutes to makeup your legs.
My wife gets lots of compliments for men, and from some woman on how nice her legs look.

Its not just the companys out to make money, it is now the norm, because what men like women will do. I am a woman and I like to wear what makes my man happy. I dont always wear what he likes though, when he is at work, I will wear old shorts or long skirts. Men only really like what they think is sexy, and dont waste 30 min doing make-up. Why bother life is too short? I look fine all natural, and thats all I need. My man loves me for me, not because I am beautiful but b/c I know what he likes.

You talk about advertising
social engineering being primarily responsible for women wearing pantyhose and shaving, etc.....and yet there you are effectively doing the same thing: drawing people's attention to your beautiful, immaculately shaved
