| I hate to say it but Tucker is right. Despite more people are pro-choice than pro-life in this country, the mass majority of religious people are pro-life. Therefore in order to win that base, the democrats have to either become moderate in the stands on abortion, or keep putting out pro-life candidates. |

| if you're against abortion, you have to be against the death penalty, or else you have an inconsistent ethic of life. most pro-life republican politicians are also pro-death penalty. this should be on the minds of those people who are "1 issue voters", most of the time that 1 issue involving abortion. |

| no, tucker's not right. wallis's point is that you have to change the environment that causes people to seek abortions. making it illegal will send them to mexico and to illegal doctors and will result in the deaths of women and unborn children. |

| It seems to me that Carlson's stance is an exact representation of what Wallis sees as the problem amongst the Religious Right. He says, "I can't even hear that conversation (referring to poverty, HIV, etc) until that stumbling block (abortion) is moved." This illustrates the one-dimensionality of the Right's moral agenda. I think Christ would be ashamed that we refuse to address poverty and injustice because of one issue that divides us (regardless of how important that issue might be). |

| I think you are exactly right, so we have to understand those things and determine how we can have people among the Religious Right to work with us on the Religious Left to solve problems like global poverty, human trafficking, climate change, health care, and more. The Religious Left also needs to be open to the Religious Right, and come to consensus through logic and faith. |
