I've seen the Aussie Pink Floys show three times now - to biff1312, all I can say is go see them. Yes they're not the real Pink Floyd but the show, sound and musicianship is as close to the real thing as you'll ever get. The bloke behind me in the audience this week saaid they were as good as the real deal.

It's called a Talkbox
works by directing amplified sound into the mouth of the performer. The performer's lips and vocal cavities further modulate and shape the sound.

On this tour I've seen them twice, in Cambridge and Newcastle. They were stunning on both nights. I've been listening to the Floyd for nearly 40 years and no-one loves them more than I do but I think the Aussies have nailed it. They are so accurate it is just like the real thing.

Let's be serious, the real Pink Floyd isn't going to be able to get it together any time soon. The world is going to need more bands like this if the younger generation is going to be able to experience how great PF really were live. Bravo to these guys for making it true to the music and not adding in there own interpretations of it.

The instrument in the mouth is a Heil Talkbox. Its a mini amp that channels the sound thru a tube. You manipulate the tube with youre mouth and pic it up thru the pa system. Peter Ferampton also used on on Do you Feel Like We Do. And Joe walsh used one alot. Joe perry used one on Sweet emotion.
They are cool, but hard to maintain and keep clean. And also hard to mic without a dummy load on the system to keep it from expoding from 70 or more watts out of a head into it, even when crossed over.

Isn't it terrible what has happened to the English language? Look at the above post. Could you possibly have more spelling mistakes or examples of poor grammar? I don't think that filming a cover band is a shameful thing. They are making a living off of Pink Floyd and don't pay any royalties unless they record.
