At this exact moment, my heart is beating horribly irregular and i am very hypertensive. I have been drinking aspartame drinks for almost 4 years on a daily basis in excess and I started having HORRIBLE side effects. I am going to stop consuming it, but my roomate is going to try to force me to keep using it and because of my financial situation, it will be hard to avoid it because he buys the groceries.

seriously, look into this.Dr. John Olney did a study in 1971, fed infant mice aspartame, and they contracted holes,in their brains.

The World Health Organization says it's okay -- well that's good enough for me! Why should I listen to stupid theories presented by scientists, Doctors and members of the FDA? I trust Rumsfeld and Arthur Hayes who became the head of the FDA and gave the green light for aspartame. Hayes joined Searle Company after leaving the FDA and I see NO PROBLEM with that what-so-ever. We should all trust the Ministry of Truth and know that Big Brother loves us!

I'm sure Aspartame sucks. I once ate a full box of orange sweets sweetened with Aspartame and got the weirdest feeling in the neck/face/head area. Something like a tension accompanied by unpleasant restlesness. It was something very unfamiliar and almost scared me to death. Some time after that, I took a whole pachage of chewing gum (yea, it's all or nothing for me when stuff tastes good) and the same happened, although much weaker. Gum contained Aspartame I normally avoided and didn't notice.

What truly beats me, are the huge volumes of ILLEGAL prescription drug sales via the Net, performed by private individuals, obviously contracted on a comm basis to companies that either manufacturer or resell these drugs on behalf of the manufacturers! Forget the FDA. Eventually, the public will learn to regard conflicts of interest before heeding any recommendations (no more excuses in the information age). Then, they will turn their backs on these government ministries (how did we ever get to the point of heeding government ministries when it comes to health?). For now, buyer beware and how about keeping it simple? How about simply not eating anything which did not exist 100 years ago?
