It's just some kind of summary or superscription of the whole movie - a line you read below the title at the cinema.
The movie has a good ending. I've read somewhere that it was not very succesful, because people didn't like very much to see a crazy Shammi Kapoor (Asha Parekh told this in an interview).

i truly speaking listened to both version of rafi sahab and lataji, and i m fan of both of them , but truly the way rafi sahab sang this song , is far beyond compare to lataji, his voice and pitch controls the modulation , and he was breaking his flow. it is really amazing.
