I agree. At the end of the film, when they show a clip of the REAL Dylan in concert, it almost seems as though it really isn't him. The film does such a good job of dissecting his different images that it's hard to come to terms with the reality of who he was and is.

And the point was that Bob Dylan and his music contains elements of all parts of life and living, male/female, old/young, sane/crazy... like Cate says, " Dylan escapes physical definition", so who says he's male or endeavours to be anyway?
And why wouldn't you have Blanchett in a movie? She's incredible.
