Yes.. I do agree with 88davey....Never NEVER BOUNCE a stretch that was done I believe in the 80's but research has shown that is bad. Also you should hold a stretch for 20 seconds ; you did get right about the hips being squared and you must never have you knee past your feet or ankle that is bad too.

there are two types of stretching that increases your flexibility and they are ballistic stretching and static stretching.

Static stretching is when the muscle is put into a stretched position and held for 6 to 15 seconds (sometimes longer); this is then repeated two or three times. ballistic stretching involves elongating a muscle to its normal length and them bouncing gently against the end of the range 6 to 12 times, then repeating this action two to three times.
