Really helpful vid. I've got my late grandfather's Nylon 66, and the action hadn't been cleaned in YEARS. It looked like someone threw it in a pit of black sand. It really wasn't that hard to take apart or reassemble.

Thanks a bunch for this vid, my father has an old Remington Nylon 66 that he had stored away in his garage for many many years and i finally convinced him to get it out so we can work on it. =]

the gun store also told me a nylon 66 has more parts than a 50 cal. machine gun the military uses

Put in the firing pin striker spring and sleeve, then push the firing pin striker down as far as it will go. Just under the striker there are 2 flat pieces of metal. If you pull on the trigger, the forward piece will move slightly more forward. While pulling the trigger, push down the back metal piece and then slide the striker back. It should now slide back further and allow you to cock it. I don't know the names of the pieces.

Sweet. I'm assuming that that 66 disasembles much the same as the 22 since they both look exactly the same.
Oh, and, I've only shot my 22 at a range once and noticed I couldn't hit the target after it got hot. Basic physics I guess.
