N64 Emu Daedalus running on Sega Dreamcast
Uploaded by: Simpson474
Video Description:
This is my port of the old Daedalus-N64 (not the one, that runs currently on the PSP). It neither looks perfect nor it is playable, but it shows a lot more than all other N64 emus for the Dreamcast. The video is captured at original speed. This is also the only game that goes ingame on the emulator.

dreamcast was better than ps2 quality, the Naomi board based DC is more powerful than the Ps2's Namco Type arcade version. The DC put out cleaner crisper, higher resolution images.Ps2 had a kinda washed out feel to the graphics in their games.

well, ps2 was more powerfull, hence games like gran turismo 3 and final fantasy x which would be hard to do on dreamcast. dreamcast is more "psp quality", but yeah, the ps2 had a washed-out feel and flicker problems. even problems with the framerate which all implyed that it wasn't all that great technically as sony stated. naomi 2 board is based on xbox hardware and xbox was much better on the hardware side than ps2

not true xbox wasnt! The Sega Chihiro system is a Sega arcade system board based on the architecture of the Microsoft Xbox. The Sega NAOMI is a development of the Sega Dreamcast technology as a basis for an arcade system board.NAOMI packs twice as much system and graphics memory, and 4X as much sound memory. And although the NAOMI and Dreamcast operate at the same speed multiple NAOMI boards can be 'stacked' together to achieve better graphics performance or a multi-monitor setup

If you had just come back from the arcades playing daytona usa 2 which is 10 years old now then went back and played any racing game on the ps2 dc or Xbox the 10 yr old daytona still looked better, (I assume its because they stacked Naomi boards) That game was probably one of the best looking at that time though and alot of others like house of the dead 2 or crazy taxi etc could be done on all the 128 bit consoles. WHY?!?!? DUSA2 for 360 or PS3 cmon!

Im not entirely sure. Overclocking the dreamcast is just basically giving the system more horsepower and is actually used mainly for running emulators better. So I guess in theory it should improve the sound, But I doubt it would be perfect.

Note to the author: The fact that you can emulate a piece of hardware with slightley more than half speed is incredible. Dreamcast Ram= 16mb, N64 RAM= 8 MB. Dreamcast CPU speed= around 200mhz, N64 speed= 93.something mhz. I dont know how you did it, but you did. Congrats, im impressed, very impressed. (:
