not sure where this was recorded, but i saw these guys in 1977 on what i beleive to be the Raindances tour in San Jose at the Center for Performing Arts.........I still have an extra album that has never been opened......dont think it will be!!!

This was recorded in 1977 in Hammersmith Odeon.
I have the full concert but on audio, no video unfortunatly.

This was the lineup I saw at Southampton Gaumont - I think the best lineup; Sinclair and Collins added a lot to the complex rhythms of the compositions. Also saw them at the King's Theatre Southsea. That was the Nude tour, if I remeber correctly. Thanks BBC Sight and Sound in Concert for introducing me to Camel

Camel is one of my favorite bands and Andrew Latimer is one of my favourite guitar players. His solos have this quiet warmth thats almost impossible to find in this days, a crying shame you can't find musicians like this!!! Camel must be one of the most underrated bands I've ever seen!!!!

I bought Rain Dances album in 1977 or 78. Loved it then, love it now. Camel's music just shows that a thing of beauty lasts forever. While the "music industry" continues to pump out a highly degraded form of popular music to an ignorant generation, we can look back at a period when true art was appreciated. Long live Camel!

they havent been making music for a few years .. the last things they did were just redoing songs they had already made then latimer went into the hospital and has been there since at least mid 07.. but what i really meant is that its a shame they arent making new material .. they tried a few times but things keep going badly. im just curious to see what their music would sound like now after having gone through so much

Exactly, I remmeber getting into an argument with a youngster who insulted the music back in the early 60's, 70s saying that none of the great metal bands today, or some of the music the dude listens to , never got their roots of rock or theory influences back then by the bands before, he was pure ignorant.

lol stupid kid. Of course bands from that era are inspiring musicians to this day. You can see it in Tool's music, they are fans of Camel, King Crimson, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin. All you have to do is listen to hear the influence

ANDREW'S HEALTH 137 DAYS POST TRANSPLANT... I apologise for the lack of information these past weeks. Andrew's excellent progress suffered a nasty setback in February. We did send out a newsletter to those on our mailing list, appealing for a renewed Hour Candle lighting and you responded in force. It is so heartening. After a tough 4 weeks, he finally rallied and began to stabilise. He was able to come home in late March and, since then, has gone from strength to strength.

We remain optimistic, even more so now than ever before. It is, however, still a long road to recovery. He still has a number of side effects to deal with, both from the stem cell transplant and from the drugs he must take for the foreseeable future. But he is doing so with dignity and humour, now having fewer down days. They are always made easier by the support he has received from his family, friends, and this global Camel family.

No puedo creer la musica q hacen estos tipos. Cada cancion es una historia. Esta en particular es excelente. El cambio q hay por el minuto 1:46 es mortal. Todos hacen de todo. Yo lo q quiero saber es por qu

haha yeah well there's still pendragon, awesome Camellish band :) bt you're right, so sad! Especially those dreadfull desperate shows like "Idols' or "so you wanna be a popstar" etc. This is what it's about, emotion, feeling and indeed being able to transform your feeling into music, those guuys breathe music. I'll never forget the way Latimer silenced the entire audience with "ice" and "for today". That's music!!
